20 années d’activité officielle se clôturent avec la mort de Fred, ainé du duo. dDamage a toujours été un croisement enragé de musiques électro, rock, noise, hip-hop. Plusieurs tours du monde pour pas loin de 600 concerts, 8 albums sans compter les EP, splits ou bandes originales de longs-métrages. Parmi leur discographie, un opus tient particulièrement à cœur à JB, seconde moitié du duo : « Radio Ape », qui a fait de dDamage en 2004 le premier groupe français à sortir un album sur Planet-Mu, label de Mike Paradinas et – par là-même – de percer à l’international. Ensuite est venue l’heure des collaborations. Peu de groupes pourront se targuer d’avoir travaillé avec des artistes d’horizons aussi divers : MF Doom, Bomb the Bass, Young Jeezy, Jon Spencer, Dose One, Faris Badwan, Krazy Baldhead, Pierre Richard, Otto Von Schirach, Bernard Fevre ou encore Christ premier membre des Boards of Canada (parmi plusieurs dizaines). Ils étaient particulièrement fiers d’avoir pu faire se rejoindre des personnes aussi différentes, d’avoir concassé tous ces styles tout en ayant toujours su garder leur son unique. Dans cette tornade folle, une seule chose leur manquait depuis « Radio Ape » : faire de nouveau un album centré sur eux-mêmes, Fred et Jb. Il est là aujourd’hui, il sera leur dernier, « Brother vs Brother » ils l’ont fait tous les deux, ensemble jusqu’à la dernière note.

À l’occasion de cette sortie, Jb Hanak proposera cet automne un set live, dans une veine électro dure, au croisement entre EBM, indus, électro dancefloor et vocaux punks surfant sur un raz de marée d’effets numériques. Radicalement efficace, son set présentera le nouvel album de dDamage, tout en retraçant plusieurs années de carrière.

20 years of official service close with Fred, elder of dDamage brotherhood-duo, passing away. dDamage has always been at the raving crossroad of electronic, rock, noise and hip-hop musics. Numerous world tours for about 600 gigs, 8 albums, over and above EPs, splits and original feature film soundtracks. Among their discography, one opus in particular has JB’s (second half of the duo) heart set on : « Radio Ape » 2004, that made them the first French band to release an album on Planet-Mu, label of Mike Paradinas, and hence enabled them to break into the internationale scene. Then came time for collaborations. Few bands can boast about having worked with artists from so diverse backgrounds : MF Doom, Bomb the Bass, Young Jeezy, Jon Spencer, Dose One, Faris Badwan, Krazy Baldhead, Pierre Richard, Otto Von Schirach, Bernard Fevre, or even Christ first member of Boards of Canada ( and many more ). dDamage brothers were particularly proud to have brought together such different artists, to have crushed all these styles, while always preserving their unique sound. In this crazy whirlwind, they were lacking one thing since « Radio Ape » : a new album focused on themselves, Fred & JB. And here it is, it will be the final one, « Brother vs Brother », they have composed it together, together until the last note.

On the occasion of this release next autumn, Jb Hanak will present a live set, in a hard electro vein, at the crossroads of EBM, indus, dancefloor electro and punk vocals, surfing on a tsunami of digital effects. Radically effective, his powerful set will feature dDamage new album and trace several years of the band’s carreer.
